The Alfa 155 V6 ti was introduced in 1993 to join the "Deutsche Tourenwagen Meisterschaft (D.T.M.) The first year was very successful with the championship for Nicola Larini.

The first 1994 race at Zolder (Belgium)  was won by Alessandro Nannini in the 1994 155V6 ti. At the end of the season Alfa ended second after Mercedes.Larini was the 3rd placed driver with 150 points (First place for Ludwig in the Mercedes with 222 points). In the constructors championship Mercedes had 323 p and Alfa second with 310 points. The 3rd placed Opel only had 97 points.

In 1995 Alfa presented the official Alfa Corse cars in the Martini colors. Alfa entered the new season with six Formula 1 drivers: Nicola Larini (44 G.P's), Alessandro Nannini (65 G.P.'s) Michale Bartels (no official G.P start but a lot af G.P. experience), Stefano Modena (70 G.P.'s), Christian Danner (36 G.P.'s) and the mentor of them all, Michele Alboreto (194 G.P.'s, 5 won). The Alfa V6 engine had more than 420 hp.

1996 was the year that Bernie Ecclestone took over the D.T.M., renamed it in I.T.C. (International Touringcar Championship) and killed it after all.

The 1996 V6 ti won 11 times. At 25-09-1996 Fiat Auto Corse and Adam Opel A.G. decided to end their I.T.C. presence. The 1996 season was won by Opel (349 pts.) with Alfa Romeo second (340 pts.) and Mercedes third with 305 points. Nannini was the third placed driver.
